I design children’s rooms in Warsaw and online, creating safe and functional spaces for infants, older children, and siblings. As an interior architect with 15 years of experience and a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP), I combine unique aesthetics with ergonomics, designing interiors that grow with the child. My projects solve problems regarding small footprints, shared rooms for siblings, and the ergonomics of both learning and play.
Children's room design
Designing a child's room
Creating a space for a child is more than just choosing pretty furniture or wall colors. It’s about building a safe, tender sanctuary that grows along with the little person – whether they are a few months old or just stepping into their teenage world.
What does a comprehensive children's room design include?
I provide full design support – from the initial vision to detailed material specifications and drawings for contractors. A comprehensive children’s room project includes:
- Inventory: Accurate measurement of the room within Warsaw (including Mokotów, Wilanów, Białołęka, Ursynów) or working on a developer’s floor plan for online collaborations.
- Design Consultations: Discussing the needs of the child and parents, analyzing ergonomics, and defining the interior style.
- Functional Layout: 3 – 5 space layout proposals, incorporating zones for rest, study, and play.
- 3D Visualizations: 5 – 7 photorealistic renders that precisely reflect colors, materials, and lighting.
- Technical Drawings: Documentation for contractors, including wall plans, electrical and plumbing installations, ceiling designs, and detailed wall elevations with custom furniture joinery details.
- Shopping List: A compilation of specific finishing materials, furniture, lighting, and decorations, including store recommendations.
Online children's room design: how does it work?
I design children’s rooms remotely for Clients from all over Poland and abroad (including the UK, France, and Switzerland). This form of collaboration is, above all, a time-saver—the process is fully digitized, and meetings take place at times convenient for you via video or telephone consultations.
The key difference lies in the inventory stage. In the case of online collaboration, I work based on a developer’s floor plan or a simple measurement taken by you. You don’t need to worry about this – I provide clear instructions on how to measure the room yourself accurately and precisely. Everything else, from photorealistic visualizations to detailed shopping lists, maintains the same high standard and quality as projects realized locally in Warsaw.
How much does a child's room design cost? Pricing and valuation guidelines
The cost of a comprehensive children’s room design typically ranges between 2,000 – 3,000 PLN. This rate is uniform for projects carried out locally in Warsaw (including Mokotów, Wilanów, Śródmieście, Wola) as well as online services provided for Clients from Poland and abroad (UK, France, Switzerland).
The final quote depends on several technical aspects:
- Area and complexity: The square footage and the presence of sloped ceilings or mezzanines, which require more detailed documentation.
- Scope of joinery: The extent of custom-designed furniture made to individual order.
- Number of zones: The need to define clear boundaries between areas for study, sleep, and play.

Why is it worth entrusting a child's room design to an interior architect?
As an interior architect with 15 years of experience and a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP), I view a child’s room as their own private universe. Running the Estilo Design studio in Warsaw, I create interiors that are more than just an aesthetic arrangement of furniture. My goal is to design spaces that provide relief from sensory overload and, in the case of children’s rooms, also support development, shape taste, and give the child a sense of security and comfort.
What do I pay attention to in children’s room designs?:
FUNCTIONAL ZONING
Regardless of the square footage, the key is to design a layout that supports passions. I designate dedicated areas for learning and play (often including sports corners, such as wall bars or climbing walls), while ensuring a quiet rest zone.
SAFETY AND MATERIALS
I use durable, natural raw materials. Wood is my favorite – it is ecological, warm to the touch, and timeless. We ensure rounded edges and certified materials.
BUILDING INDEPENDENCE (Montessori)
I design furniture and storage systems adapted to the child’s height. The ability to independently reach for a toy or clothing builds a sense of agency and self-confidence in the toddler.
DIVERSIFIED LIGHTING
I select lighting that supports multi-functionality. I design a different light intensity for concentration during study, and another – soft and warm – for winding down before sleep.
I create interiors that mature along with the child. I propose a base that you can easily adapt to changing passions and the needs of different ages. The designed room must, on one hand, respond to current needs and, on the other, leave flexible space for future changes.
How does the collaboration work? Stages of designing a child's room
I conduct the design process personally, taking care of every technical and aesthetic detail. Thanks to a proven 6-step structure, we move together from the general concept to a ready shopping list.
- Needs Analysis and Interview (Brief): We start with a conversation about your expectations, budget, and the child’s dreams. I analyze the inspirations you send to precisely define the stylistic direction.
- Inventory: I perform a precise measurement of the room on-site in Warsaw. In the case of online collaboration: I work based on a developer’s floor plan or a simple sketch sent by you (I provide you with exact instructions on how to prepare it).
- Functional Layout: I prepare 3 – 5 variants of furniture placement and zone separation (sleep, study, play). You choose the solution that best suits your family’s daily rhythm.
- 3D Visualizations: I create a three-dimensional design and photorealistic shots of the room. At this stage, you will see the equipment, colors, textures, and lighting used. You have the opportunity to submit revisions so that the final result is fully satisfying.
- Technical Documentation: I prepare a complete set of drawings for contractors (electrical, plumbing, ceilings, wall views). This is a key stage that ensures the renovation team executes the project without errors.
- Shopping List and Summaries: You receive a ready table with links to stores, prices, and the quantity of materials needed. Thanks to this, you know exactly what to buy and where, so the room looks identical to the visualization.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about children's room design
How to start the collaboration?
To receive a quote, please send the square footage and photos of the room, along with your initial assumptions. After the offer is accepted, we sign a contract, and then conduct a detailed conversation about your and your child’s needs. Based on this, and after you send visual inspirations, I begin working on the design.
How to Accurately Measure Your Room for the Online Design Project?
The measurement should include the lengths of all walls, their height, the dimensions of recesses, and the location and size of windows (including windowsill height), doors, radiators, and electrical connections. You will receive detailed measurement instructions from me via email.
Is your children's room design service available internationally?
Yes, I offer full online design support for clients from all over the world (including the UK, France, and Switzerland). The process takes place remotely, maintaining the same technical standards as in the case of on-site projects in Warsaw.
Can I use my existing furniture in the new design?
Yes. If the furniture is functional and fits into the new concept, I will incorporate it into the arrangement. I only require their exact dimensions and photos of the pieces to include them in the visualizations and technical documentation.
How long does it take to complete a children’s room design project?
The standard lead time for a comprehensive project is between 2 and 4 weeks. The timeline depends on the efficiency of communication and the number of revisions introduced.
Can I rely on your assistance during the execution (renovation) phase if technical issues arise?
Yes, I provide free telephone support for contractors regarding the clarification of technical documentation. If on-site visits or quality control of the work are required, I recommend purchasing the design supervision service; you can find more about it here.
